THE WINNIPEG TRAP AND SKEET CLUB

In Memoriam - Bruce Wennberg
Bruce Wennberg

Bruce Wennberg passed away on Thursday, Jan 14, 2010 after a fairly tough year of declining health. Some of his better times were with many of you out at the shooting clubs in Canada and afterwards having a nice dinner wherever we may have been.

A Message from Grant Wennberg:

Dear friends and family, It is with a heavy heart that I pass on to you the news of my late father. Dad passed away Thursday at the age of 76. He was unable to continue living the life he wanted and as such let go and found peace. Dad lived life large, and touched many people with his charisma and magnetic personality. He will be dearly missed.

His spirit was too free for his falling body.  People like my Dad are not meant to live in an old folk’s home and slowly pass time. Our family is at peace with his passing and are dealing with it very privately.

To all the hockey teammates, all I ask from you is to release my dad of your owed sauerkraut sandwich. I will remember these times fondly, as I know he enjoyed spending time watching all of us and talking with the other hockey parents. Please pass on to your parents the news. To everyone else, I hope your memories of my dad can give you a laugh. He would have wanted that. It was my dad’s sense of humour that made him so special.

The Wennberg’s want to pass on to everyone that we are not going to have an immediate funeral. Instead, Lars, Curtis and I are here in Nanaimo with Mom and are quietly grieving and enjoying each other’s company. We are planning on having a ceremony in Winnipeg in late spring or summer. More details will come at a later date if you would like to partake.

Heavy hearted,
Grant and Family
